Choux Cabus Blancs coeur de boeuf Vertus
A very old French variety, taking its name from the Plaine des Vertus, a locality now forgotten: the “Plaine des Vertus”, drained by the Ru de Montfort. It extended over Aubervilliers and La Courneuve, to the limits of Bobigny and Drancy (Seine-Saint-Denis).
The cabbage heart of bœuf des Vertus can be sown in August-September and transplanted in October with good exposure, spends the winter outside if the weather is not too cold or under unheated shelter for a harvest from April to June. Can also be sown on beds and in tunnels in February-March for a spring harvest, fairly rapid assembly. This variety is perfect for a harvest of tender, medium-sized apples.
