Chicory which produces very large leaves, which roll up to form a large oval cone, the heart of which is consumed. Tender and slightly bitter white leaves. Resists cold well. Very popular in the middle of winter. The gel makes it much better. Once cut, the roots give back rather bitter green endivettes.
