Biennial lamiaceae, sometimes perennial, cousin of officinal sage. Tufts of large, downy leaves from which emerge in June long stems of pink flowers. Very aromatic and melliferous, it thrives in full sun in dry, drained soil (especially in winter). The leaves and flowers are used in digestive herbal teas.
